• Several significant events in the book that have impacted his life and how he was impacted
• How racism affects Richard, how he responds to it, how it affects his view of the world

The Color of Water

• Brief descriptions of two main characters (James, Rachel/Ruth)
• Examples of several similar conflicts the two characters have faced
• Examples of how the characters struggled to discover their identity
